Kersten Peter

Kersten Peter has dedicated his career to the field of retail and shopping center development, bringing a strategic and analytical approach to each project. With a background in Business Administration and Retail Management, he has held pivotal roles at GGW, Brune Consulting, mfi, and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW), excelling in leasing, project conceptualization, and development. His expertise spans comprehensive market research, consumer insights (qualitative and quantitative), center research, urban planning analyses, and performance impact assessments. Respected for his experience in market and location analytics, he is adept at expansion planning, product positioning, brand performance, industry mix strategies, trend forecasting, and fostering transformation and innovation.

Kersten is a trusted representative in industry associations, demonstrating a keen ability to lead collaborative and forward-thinking initiatives. He represented URW on the ZIA Committee on Retail and actively contributes to the ZIA task force for Urban Development Perspectives. As part of the gif Competence Group on Retail Standards, he ensures high standards for retail reporting and assessment. Previously, he was a valued member of the GCSP think tank, where he contributed thought leadership on retail trends.

 

His academic contributions as a lecturer at Ruhr University Bochum reflect his commitment to educating future professionals in Retail and Urban Development, and he currently leads a working group on retail for the German Association for Urban and Regional Planning (DVAG).

Christian Betov

Christian is a polyglot who speaks 7 languages, and has years of experience in Data Analytics and Science for Retail. In his previous roles, he was a Data Analyst and Scientist at the global headquarters of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) in Paris, shaping not only analytics and new methods of real estate performance measurement, but also authoring the global strategy templates for all malls of URW in collaboration with the C-Suite level leadership. He has held a temporary lecturer position at Fontys International Business School, Netherland an, before that, worked as a Management Consultant in Germany, focussing on projects for Retail clients in all possible spheres.

Besides his worklife, he co-authored a book about innovation systems in Sofia, Bulgaria, as well as the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor study and Eurograduate study, both also for Bulgaria.

​

He has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Fontys International Business School, Netherlands, a Master's in Latin American Studies from the University of Salamanca, Spain, an Executive Certificate Degree in Data Science from the University of Paris-Dauphine, France, and countless online degrees in Data Engineering, Data Science, Statistics and Machine Learning as well as Business in Emerging Economies.
